Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026. This policy explains what Wildwatch collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Wildwatch ("Wildwatch," "we," "us") provides a wildlife-intelligence application that organizes trail-camera photos and derives species, scoring, and activity information for land and wildlife management. You can reach us at hello@wildwatch.io.
2. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and password credentials.
- Waitlist / mobile-access information — the email, name, and optional details (e.g., camera count, brands, species, iPhone availability) you submit on our marketing site, along with source/UTM attribution.
- Uploaded images and their metadata — the trail-camera photos you upload or import, including embedded metadata such as timestamps and, where present, camera identifiers and location data.
- Property and camera data — properties, management units, cameras, and configuration you create.
- Derived data — detections, species and sex classifications, score estimates, sightings, histories, and reports produced from your images.
- Camera-source credentials — when you connect a supported camera source, the credentials or access tokens needed to retrieve your photos.
- Usage and device data — basic technical information (e.g., pages viewed, device category, referrer) used to operate and improve the service.
3. How we use information
- To provide the service — process your images, generate results, and build your property record.
- To operate your account, authenticate you, and provide support.
- To maintain connections to camera sources you choose to connect.
- To communicate with you about your account, the mobile app, and service updates.
- To secure the service and prevent abuse.
4. AI processing and product improvement
Your images are processed by automated systems to detect animals, classify species and sex, and estimate scores. Corrections and feedback you provide may be used to improve the accuracy and reliability of these systems.
Use of your uploaded images to train our models: we do not use your uploaded images to train our machine-learning models except with your consent. If we introduce an option to contribute images for model improvement, it will be clearly described and under your control.
5. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the service (for example, our cloud database and storage provider and AI compute provider), under contracts that limit their use of it; when required by law; or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public. Your property data is isolated from other customers.
6. Service providers
We rely on trusted infrastructure providers, including a managed database and storage provider (Supabase, backed by Amazon Web Services) and AI compute infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service.
7. Payments and billing
Wildwatch is a paid annual product with plans and processing allowances described on our Pricing page, and additional processing capacity that may be purchased for the current term. Subscription payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment details under its own terms and security practices; Wildwatch does not store your full card number. We retain billing records such as plan, subscription status, and processing usage to operate your account.
8. Data retention
We retain your account, images, and derived data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When a subscription ends, your records remain available in a read-only state and are not immediately deleted; new processing pauses. Waitlist information is retained to manage access. You can request deletion as described below.
9. Your choices and rights
- Access and export — request a copy of your data by emailing us.
- Correction — edit results in the app; contact us to correct account details.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. Self-serve tools are on the roadmap.
- Marketing — you can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including private image storage, database-enforced access controls that scope data to your properties, scoped access links for media, and encrypted transport (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Beta and mobile testing
The Wildwatch iPhone app is in testing and distributed through Apple TestFlight. Testing features may change, and additional information may be collected to diagnose issues during testing. Joining the mobile list registers interest and does not by itself grant access.
12. Children
Wildwatch is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
