Data & Security
Your land. Your data. Your control.
Property and wildlife data is sensitive. Here is how Wildwatch handles it — in plain terms, with no claims we can't stand behind.
Private, tenant-isolated storage
Your uploaded images are kept in private storage. They are not part of a public gallery and are not browsable on the internet. Access to media is granted through short-lived, scoped (signed) links generated only for authorized requests.
Property-scoped access
Access is enforced at the database level with row-level security and scoped to the properties you own or have been granted access to. One customer's data is isolated from another's; other customers cannot see your images, sightings, cameras, or reports.
Trusted server boundaries
Sensitive operations run behind trusted server-side boundaries rather than in the browser. Media is retrieved with scoped credentials, and access checks are applied at the data layer — not left to convention.
You control your results
Every AI determination is editable. You can correct species, sex, scores, and identity — and your correction becomes the record of truth. Wildwatch assists; you decide.
Honest about AI limitations
- Identification covers a defined, growing set of native and exotic species — not every animal. Unrecognized animals are detected and logged, not misidentified.
- Sex is estimated only when the image supports it; otherwise it is marked unknown.
- Whitetail scores are non-official estimates from photos — not certified measurements.
- Forecast guidance is probabilistic — a read on conditions, not a guarantee of behavior.
- When evidence is insufficient, Wildwatch abstains rather than guesses.
Camera credentials
When you connect a supported camera source, the credentials or tokens needed to retrieve your photos are handled through our approved services and used only to maintain that connection. You can disconnect a source at any time.
Payments
Subscription payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. Card details are handled by Stripe under its own security practices; Wildwatch does not store your full card number.
Infrastructure
Wildwatch runs on established cloud infrastructure. Data and media are stored with our managed database and storage provider (Supabase, backed by Amazon Web Services); AI processing runs on dedicated compute. Traffic is served over HTTPS.
Access, export, and deletion
You own your uploads and the record built from them. To request a copy of your data or deletion of your account and associated data, contact hello@wildwatch.io and we'll handle it. Self-serve export and deletion tools are on the roadmap.
This page summarizes current practices in plain language. For the full terms, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Wildwatch does not claim formal security certifications at this time and will only advertise them once established. We describe what we actually do rather than reaching for vague superlatives.
